WEEEComply Ltd - New Customer

WEEEComply has awarded Darwin Consultants a new project to build software that assists them with the submission of electrical and electronic waste data to the Environment Agency.

The WEEE (Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment) Regulations became law on 2 January 2007.  They affect thousands of companies who manufacture, import or sell electrical and electronic equipment.

WEEEComply has been set up to provide compliance with the WEEE regulations.  WEEEComply is an approved compliance scheme operated by Complypak, one of the UK’s leading packaging compliance schemes.  Complypak has years of experience in complying with producer responsibility legislation for some of the UK’s biggest businesses.

When the WEEE Regulations were first published, WEEEComply approached Darwin to build a system that would help them with the submission of XML data to the Environment Agency.  This system has been in operation since March 2007.  Fully supported by Darwin, WEEEComply have been successfully submitting returns data without any reported issues to date.

New legislation introduced by the Environment Agency now requires WEEEComply to submit additional compliance data on a regular basis.  With their proven ability to deliver high quality solutions that are right first time, Darwin Consultants were again selected by WEEEComply to build, deploy and support the necessary software to help manage their operation in respect of these additional requirements.

Working in conjunction with technical staff at the Environment Agency, Darwin will undertake a formal development project to build the new software.  Overseen by a senior Project Manager, WEEEComply can be confident of receiving another high quality deliverable that fully meets their needs and, once deployed, is backed up by a prompt and efficient support service.
